Hello!
I’m Natalie, blogger and camping mama extraordinaire.
Showing my kids the magic of the outdoors is one of the best parts of being a parent.
Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a parent who’s planning the first family camping trip, I hope you’ll find inspiration here at CampingKiddos.com.
I grew up camping with my parents and grandparents in a 1972 Class A RV.
We had so much fun in that camper, and I have worked to recreate that fun with my own kids through tent camping, national parks visits, hikes to waterfalls, and more.
Most recently, I bought and refurbished a 2002 Coleman Bayside pop-up, and we learned all there is to know about trailer camping.
We recently sold that pop-up and are now the proud owners of a 2020 Winnebago Micro Minnie trailer.
Come explore the outdoors with us!

KEEP IT PROFESSIONAL.
I hold a BA in English (magna cum laude) and an MA in English (summa cum laude). I worked as a college English professor for over a decade before recently leaving a full-time position to spend more time traveling with our kids.
In my career as an English professor, I’ve taught American Literature, British Literature, Professional and Technical Writing, Public Speaking, Composition and Rhetoric, and Writing for Social Media. I also served as advisors for multiple committees, including the study abroad program, Phi Theta Kappa, and First Year Experience program. If you need a fresh cover letter or a 2 hour lecture on Edgar Allan Poe, I’m your gal.
I started my first blog, Cosmos Mariners: Destination Unknown, back in 2012 while on maternity leave with my daughter. Thanks to that blog, I worked as a full-time blogger for 3 years before heading back into the classroom. With Cosmos Mariners, I partnered with some incredible brands and tourism bureaus, including Historic Hotels of America, St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Florida, Allegiant Airlines, Mastercard, Rutherford County Tourism, and Visit Charlotte.
LET’S GET PERSONAL.
I’m a South Carolina native and have lived all over the state. However, the Charleston area is where I was born and where I’ve spent most of my life, so it feels the most like home.
I’ve visited 22 national parks with plans to add another 11 in 2024!
My favorite outdoor destination so far is a close tie between Moab, Utah, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
My favorite city in the world is London, England.
My favorite book is House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. Runner up: Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer.
I went to both Clemson University for undergrad and its in-state rival, the University of South Carolina for grad school. I still bleed orange!
